Arts, Crafts, Treasures and Food at Prince of Peace
This video starts out with my attempt to "read" the Burma Shave signs which Farley and I had just installed along the road. You will get the idea, even if you cannot read them, and the noise of the wind is deafening, even though we are going only 25 mph. "On your way to hear a song, shop at POP, it won't take long. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church". "Just ahead, and to the right, Arts, Crafts and Food, for your delight. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church."
The sale was to begin at noon; people started arriving and buying by 10:30. It was a lovely day, although a bit warm. Things began to wind down around 4:00, and we started bringing the leftovers into the basement of the church. Very good timing, as the sky suddenly clouded up and we had one of our Basye gully-washers.
All in all, it seemed to be a very successful day, and we thank Jewell Emswiller for putting forth the idea. More later, as to how much we earned for WELCA. And thanks to everyone who worked very hard to make it a success!
